Re: How do you make art appreciaton less boring?

I had the same feeling when I took Intermediate Algebra. I had to completely relearn this subject and it was a challenge because I haven't had any of this type of math in almost 40 years. It was quite a relief when it was over and I feel like I learned a lot and will keep it with me now for life but was I ever glad it was done. Also when I went to a private university many years ago I took a course called music appreciation because I thought it would be an easy course (easy "A") in my business major. When I went to class the professor was well known in New York, played professionally there, but was not well known in my small town in Ohio. I'd always loved music but he took it to a new level. Once a week he'd play a piece of music for us students and we'd just sit in awe at the hands of a master. The reason why I'm telling you this is if you now ever go to an art museum, whether you realize it or not, you'll now look at art with new eyes. You will have more of a sense of what the master was trying to portray. Just my two cents.
