Hi Kristina
I've been an uncertified lead technician for about 14 years and am finally going through the motions to get those fun letters after my name and I can tell you this.... While you are working on the Penn Foster program don't worry too much about other needs to become the best technician you can be. If you want, you can volunteer at most animal hospitals to give you an idea of what life will be like but each individual hospital will train you in "their ways". All you really need is a little bit of animal skills to be a great tech and what I mean is a general understanding of animal behavior and a calm demeanor when working with scared and sometimes injured animals and the ability to multi-task without getting overwhelmed.
