I have downloaded the focus keeper app and it really helps me stay focused! Basically it has been proved that you retain more information by studying in small increments, since you tend to remember the first thing you study and the last. So the app is simply a timer, a timer starts for 25 min (study) then automatically switched to a break timer for 5 min. after 5 min of studying you get a long break (30 min). It really helps me stay focused knowing i have a break!
In regards to studying I read the textbook pages up until the first test yourself question. I highlight important info, I then go back and write that in my notebook in a simple form. I then answer the questions, and check my answers. I complete that for all the textbook pages.
I then read the study guide notes and write down and information that i am unclear on or that wasn't mentioned in tb, I then do self check questions, and check answers. Then i watch the recorded lectures and take notes.
With all that information combined I create flashcards on quizlet.com , It is soooo much faster than writing. And they have games you can play with the info, and even an app.
