Although this may not apply, I have always lived to compete albeit sports, academics or my business life.  Whether it was competing with others or simply myself, there was always an end game. In your case, possibly having a reward system in place for hitting certain targets might make sense? You set the target or leverage a schedule recommended by the program. Bottom line, you have a benchmark in place that you can challenge yourself to achieve or even exceed. Most importantly, have fun going through the program/process as anything less really brings into question " why have I signed up for this?"   Some event in your life or someone motivated you to invest in the experience , right?
