I just wanted to say that I am really enjoying this practicum. It can be tedious at times, but I like that it is so thorough. I feel like I am being adequately challenged and the expectations are high! Honestly, I also lucked out with the clinic I am interning at. Everyone there is eager to teach and support me through this. They are so patient with me when I make mistakes, and cheer me on when I finish a skill!
I find that I am being extremely organized and detail-oriented for this practicum, and I really do think that's why I feel so on top of things. If I wasn't being so neurotic about keeping everything labeled and in its proper place, I would be pulling out my hair and calling the looney bin to come pick me up.
Some days are tough. When I feel like there are just too many skills and I can't separate them all out in my head to focus on just one. But on those days, I just call it a day and start fresh in the morning. I am about 3 weeks in now and making very good progress. I have a plan and hope to keep on keepin' on!
Anyways, I just kinda felt like sharing and hope this might help someone else who is feeling like it's impossible to do all the skills. I'm a stay at home mom and haven't worked in a clinic in over two years so it feels like I am brand new!
GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY!
